Tehran, Feb. 04 (SENA) - “Islamic securities help market transparency and are attractive for foreign investors,” Chair of Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran, Shapour Mohammadi, underlined in an Interview with Russia Today, outlining investment opportunities in Iran for foreign investors.

Mohamadi explained that Islamic securities are better in controlling the investment risks, as the issuer has to use the raised funds for an exactly predefined purpose of which the investors are completely aware.

He continued with Iran’s ongoing strive to upgrade its associate membership in International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to an ordinary membership. The membership is another confirmation on the protection of foreign investors in Iran capital market.

The Chair talked about the areas of cooperation between Iran and Russia that due to the oil and gas orientation of the two countries can revolve around commodity exchanges. “Mutual commodities should be traded on commodity exchanges based on which financial instruments can be structured. This opportunity helps the countries to better price their national wealth”, he said.

The chair also mentioned that to strengthen the relationship between Iran and Russia, SEO has already initiated negotiations with regulatory body of the Russian capital market.
