Iran's Non-Oil Exports Hit $5.5bln
Tehran, March. 03 (SENA) - Iran exported 12 million tons of non-oil products worth $5.5 billion to Iraq during the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2017-February 21, 2018).

Tehran, March. 03 (SENA) - Iran exported 12 million tons of non-oil products worth $5.5 billion to Iraq during the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2017-February 21, 2018).

Iran's non-oil exports comprised 18 percent of Iran's total exports, Iran commercial Attaché to Iraq Nasser Behzad said. FNA reported.

Behzad also pointed to Iran-Iraq trade surplus, and said 66% of Iran’s exports are to China, Iraq, the UAE, South Korea and Afghanistan half of which go to China and Iraq.

The average cost of Iran's exports to Iraq has been $460 since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year.

The figure is 1.2-fold more compared with exports to other countries.

Experts believe that Iraq enjoying good security and rich oil and financial sources in post-ISIL era is a suitable market for Iranian investors and economic activists.

In relevant remarks earlier in February, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim Al-Jabouri called for Iran’s contribution to his country’s reconstruction.

Al-Jabouri made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi in the Iraqi capital.

"Political ties between the two countries have paved the way for boosting of economic ties over the past five years and average trade exchanges between the two nations are increasing everyday," al-Jabouri said.
